Japanese Sesame Salad with Avocado
Ingredients:
1tbsp sesame seeds
1tbsp Kewpie mayo
1/4tbsp white wine vinegar
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1/5tsp raw sugar
1tbsp sesame oil
2 cups mixed salad leaves
1 x tomato
½ medium avocado
¼ cup bean sprouts
¼ lemon
1tsp wasabi paste (optional)
Method (serves 1):
Dressing: Combine the sesame seeds, kewpie, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil in a small bowl, then mix thoroughly and set aside. NOTE: Make this recipe gluten free by choosing a GF soy sauce such as Tamari.
Divide the salad leaves into portions (if preparing multiple portions), add sliced tomatoes and avocado, and divide the sprouts.
Pour over the dressing, then add a squeeze of lemon juice, topped with a slice of lemon.
Optional: Top with a small scoop of wasabi to serve.
