Fake-away: Beef Burgers

 

Beef Burgers:

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 x Bread Roll

  • 125g extra lean beef mince (raw)

  • 1.5 tbsp lupin protein flakes (see HLA website)

  • 0.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (NOTE: try the Cobram garlic infused extra virgin olive oil for extra flavour)

  • 1 x sandwich slice of low fat cheese

  • 2 x slice tomato

  • 1 x medium lettuce leaf

  • 1 x slice pineapple (fresh or canned)

  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce

  • 1 tbsp mustard sauce

  • 1 tbsp basil pesto

Method:
1. Combine beef mince, lupin protein flakesand pesto in a bowl and mix well. Divide mixture into 4 and press into 4 large patties.

2. Heat garlic-infused olive oil in a pan and cook patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.

3. Slice bread rolls in half and brown under the grill for a few minutes to lightly toast.

4. Serve bread rolls, beef patties and toppings at the table and allow people to construct their own burgers.
