Food Intolerance Elimination Diet - What Is It?
Do you suffer from any of the following symptoms?
Skin reactions (Hives and swelling, Eczema)
Headaches, Irritability or Fatigue
Mouth ulcers, Nausea
Reflux, upset stomach
Sinus congestion, Throat Irritation
There are many different reasons you may be experiencing such symptoms, but one cause may be a food intolerance! Food intolerances can be treated and managed in many different ways, and one of those ways is the RPAH Food Chemical Elimination Diet. This diet is a 3 stage process: Elimination Phase, Challenge Phase and Reintroduction Phase.
(Note: If the full Elimination Diet is followed long term there can be significant health consequences, so it is important that it is used as merely a tool for diagnosis and is not to be followed without the next phases.)
So why would this diet be helpful in this scenario?
Identifying Food Sensitivities:
Food sensitivities can manifest in various ways, including digestive issues, skin problems, headaches, fatigue, and more. An elimination diet serves as a systematic approach to identify specific food triggers that may be contributing to these symptoms. By temporarily removing common allergens and potential culprits from the diet, clients can observe changes in their symptoms and gain valuable insights into the foods that may be causing them harm.
Reducing Inflammation and Gut Healing:
Inflammation in the body, particularly in the gut, can lead to a wide range of health issues. An elimination diet helps reduce inflammation by eliminating potentially inflammatory foods. These inflammatory foods are different for each individual person; some examples of foods that MAY be inflammatory would be gluten, dairy, soy, and processed sugars. This reduction in inflammatory triggers allows the body to heal, promoting gut health and overall well-being.
Enhancing Digestive Function:
Many clients struggle with digestive discomfort, such as bloating, gas or indigestion. An elimination diet can be instrumental in identifying specific foods that may be triggering these digestive issues. By removing potential irritants and reintroducing foods one at a time, clients can pinpoint the culprits and adjust their diets accordingly, leading to improved digestive function and symptom relief.
Emotional Well-being and Mental Clarity:
The gut-brain connection is a well-established concept, and the foods we consume can have a profound impact on our mental and emotional well-being. Certain foods, such as artificial additives, preservatives, and gluten, have been linked to mood imbalances, anxiety, and brain fog. Through the elimination diet, clients can identify and eliminate these triggers, leading to improved mental clarity, emotional balance, and an enhanced overall sense of well-being.
